Shooting the Eastern Bays waterfront and the Whitford lifestyle blocks
The Eastern Bays run along Tamaki Drive, and beachfront and near beachfront homes here are often photographed for their outlook as much as their floor plan. Getting a clean shot of the harbour view from Mission Bay, Kohimarama, or St Heliers means timing the shoot around light bouncing off the water and working around the weekend crowds the waterfront draws. We plan around this rather than shooting on a fixed schedule regardless of conditions.
Howick, Bucklands Beach, and Half Moon Bay bring a different challenge. These are established, tightly packed residential areas where mature trees and established gardens can throw heavy shade across a frontage for parts of the day, so we time exterior shoots around when the light actually reaches the house.
Whitford and the rural pockets further out are a different job again. These are lifestyle blocks and larger custom homes on land rather than standard suburban sections, and the photography needs to capture the property and the land together, including access, outbuildings, and any equestrian or garden features that are part of the sale. We treat these shoots more like a property and land brief than a standard listing.
Why water, school zones, and land sell differently in East Auckland
Buyers in the Eastern Bays are paying for water. Beach access, harbour views, and proximity to Tamaki Drive’s cafes and running track are usually the actual reason for the price, so photos need to show the outlook clearly and connect the property to that lifestyle, not just document the rooms.
In Howick and the surrounding family suburbs, school zones and indoor outdoor flow tend to matter more. Buyers are often comparing a short list of similarly priced family homes, so photos that clearly show bedroom count, living space, and a usable backyard carry real weight, alongside village character where the property is close to Howick’s historic centre.
For Whitford and other lifestyle block listings, land is the product as much as the house. Buyers want to see paddocks, fencing, sheds, and the scale of the section, not just the home’s interior. A listing that only shows the house and skips the land is leaving out the reason many buyers are looking in this part of Auckland in the first place. We shoot to cover both.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do you photograph waterfront properties along Tamaki Drive?
Yes. Waterfront photography in Mission Bay, Kohimarama, and St Heliers is a regular part of our East Auckland work, and we time shoots to make the most of the light off the water.
Can you photograph lifestyle blocks and rural properties in Whitford?
Yes. We shoot these properties with the land in mind as well as the house, including paddocks, sheds, and access, not just the interior.
Do you photograph family homes in Howick and Botany?
Yes. Family home photography is a regular part of our East Auckland work, and we shoot to show bedroom count, living flow, and outdoor space clearly.
How quickly can we get the photos back?
Same-day or next-day delivery is available depending on the shoot and current bookings. We will confirm turnaround when you book.
Do you offer twilight photography for East Auckland listings?
Yes. Twilight and dusk packages are available and work particularly well for waterfront properties and homes with strong outdoor entertaining areas.
Can you fly a drone in East Auckland?
Aerial drone imagery is available where the site and current council or airspace rules allow it, including over larger lifestyle blocks. We check this ahead of the shoot.
Do you work directly with vendors, or only through agents?
We work with real estate agents, property developers, vendors, home stagers, and Airbnb hosts.
